The PSC of Sant Cugat has denounced that the Junts and ERC government is allegedly pressuring workers at the Miquel Batllori Library in Volpelleres to remove symbols protesting the Palestinian conflict.

The socialists consider these actions to “violate the freedom of expression” of the cultural facility’s professionals and contrast sharply with the “lack of municipal response” to serious maintenance deficiencies affecting the normal operation of the service.

"It is inadmissible that the City Council is unable to guarantee decent and safe facilities, but is willing to act to pressure workers."

This controversy adds to a previous complaint made by the CUP, which warned that the facility had to close last Friday after sewage began leaking from the ceiling in the children's area. Although the library reopened earlier this week, the children's room remains closed.
The consistory responded that the leaks originate from the downpipes of an apartment building located above and that they are working with the community of owners to locate the source of the filtrations and resolve them. Other structural issues, such as malfunctioning heating and door failures during rain, are also being repaired.
