Rural Agents searching for wild boar traces in a wooded area near a stream

Four units of Rural Agents were deployed yesterday in Sant Cugat del Vallès to intensify the search for wild boar tracks in the stream near the Sant Cugat Golf Club, following the expansion of African Swine Fever (ASF) restrictions.

The main task of the agents has been focused on tracking possible wild boar footprints in the stream area surrounding the Sant Cugat Golf Club, a location deemed sensitive due to its proximity to wooded and urban areas.
This preventive action follows the confirmation by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the death of 26 wild boars infected with ASF within the radius of the first detected outbreak in the region.
In compliance with the expanded restrictions issued by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Sant Cugat City Council has had to restrict access to about fifteen urban green areas to minimize the risk of disease spread among wildlife.
