The Sant Cugat City Council has reinforced safety measures in the municipality's nightlife venues, reminding them of the strict prohibition of fire use following serious events that occurred in Switzerland on January 5.

The Sant Cugat Consistory has expressed concern about safety in nightlife establishments, an anxiety shared by several residents. This preventive action began immediately after the Switzerland incidents, sending a written notice to all entertainment venues to remind them of the prohibition.

"The safety of people is an absolute priority for the consistory, especially in activities that can generate concern among the citizenry."

The prohibition of fire use is framed within the current state regulations and the provisions of the competent general directorates of the Generalitat de Catalunya. The City Council works in coordination with the Directorate General for Fire Prevention, Extinction and Rescue (DGPEIS) and the Sub-Directorate General of Public Shows and Recreational Activities.
The goal is to ensure the correct application of regulations and compliance with periodic controls, which must be carried out every four years. The mayor of Sant Cugat, Josep Maria Vallès, plans to meet with the managers of the party halls to jointly address the issue and strengthen coordination with the sector.
