The companies Crock and Oasis, both from Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, have been crowned winners of the 4th Professional Contest for the Best Croquette of Vallès, held on Saturday, October 10th.

Crock triumphed in the traditional category, while Oasis was recognized in the creative category. A third company from Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Genials, received a special local mention.
Seven catering companies competed in this edition, with a strong presence of participants from Santa Perpètua de Mogoda: Oasis, Crock, Genials, and Origen. The jury highlighted the high quality of the creations presented, which led to a prolonged deliberation.
Oasis retained its title in the creative category with a seasonal croquette made with artichoke, which is now part of their menu. Meanwhile, Crock SL, specializing in the sale of frozen croquettes, secured its first award in the traditional category, a prize that motivates its owner, Eloy Piña, to continue with the business.
The special local mention went to Genials Gastroburguer, for their regular croquette on the restaurant's menu, as commented by Dan Chitibia.
The contest took place during the opening day of the Moguda Gastronòmica, an event that filled the parc Central with workshops, beer tastings, food trucks, and catering stalls. Children's activities and musical performances were also featured.
The Moguda Gastronòmica will run until November 8th, with the participation of 21 establishments from Santa Perpètua offering autumn menus, gastrolots, and gastroroutes.
The Councilor for Commerce, Laura Oliver, positively assessed the attendance at the opening day, emphasizing the goal of promoting local restaurateurs. She stated that the croquette contest is already a benchmark in the Vallès region.
The association Els Comerciants also participated with stalls in the park, as explained by its president, Laia Berruezo, who stressed the importance of shopping at local businesses.
The mayor, Joan Carles Mingueza, praised the quality, variety, and talent of the local culinary scene, as well as the effort of the establishment teams in adapting to market and citizen needs.
