The Santa Perpètua de Mogoda City Council presented the comprehensive rehabilitation project for Can Folguera Antic at the 'Urban Innovation, Other Ways of Making Cities' event, held in Granada on October 21 and 22.

The meeting, organized by the European Urban Initiative (EUI), the Granada City Council, and the University of Granada, brought together over 200 people to share innovative urban transformation experiences. First Deputy Mayor Sergi Hernández and Head of the Housing Unit Glòria Almena represented the council.
The event showcased the municipal strategy for energy rehabilitation and urban regeneration, as well as the application for funding from the European Urban Initiative for a pilot project at Can Folguera Antic. Santa Perpètua was presented as an example of urban policies focused on citizens and the improvement of vulnerable neighborhoods.
Sergi Hernández highlighted the innovative nature of the municipal strategy, aiming to combat climate change and drive the energy transition through comprehensive rehabilitation. He stated that the municipal energy rehabilitation program sets a challenge to improve building conservation and reduce the energy footprint.
Hernández also mentioned the upcoming Conservation and Rehabilitation Areas (ACR) to be approved by the City Council, which have facilitated the Law of Neighborhoods for rehabilitating buildings in terms of energy efficiency and removing architectural barriers. He also recalled the submission of a European grant application to promote an intervention model combining energy efficiency, accessibility, and housing quality with community participation.
