The Santa Perpètua de Mogoda City Council aims to find new methods to increase the involvement of citizens and entities in the Municipal Equality Council. The last meeting, held on October 20th, saw low participation, a fact that disappointed municipal officials.
During the meeting, the Department of Equality and Civil Rights, led by Sandra Gómez, presented the planned activities for November 25th, the Day of Violence Against Women, as well as educational proposals for schools and the municipal campaign SPM Antiracista.
A key point on the agenda was the need to extend the current LGBTI Local Plan. Councillor Sandra Gómez explained that collaboration has begun with the Barcelona Provincial Council to develop a new document expected to be ready during 2027.
The network of lilac shops was also discussed. This initiative, revived two years ago, already includes a dozen affiliated establishments throughout the municipality, even in some industrial estates. These shops feature a new distinctive emblem indicating their commitment.
“"They are spread across different neighborhoods of the municipality, even some in industrial estates."
