The Terrassa City Council asked the Generalitat de Catalunya for greater involvement and concrete commitments to modernize its thirteen industrial estates during a meeting held in Barcelona this week.

The request was conveyed during a meeting between the Deputy Mayor for Economic Promotion and Education, Meritxell Lluís, and the Director General of Industry, Xavier Roca. The council proposed implementing improvement plans and structural subsidies for local industrial estate plans, following the model of the support lines already offered by the Diputació de Barcelona.

"The new National Pact for Industry represents a great opportunity, but it is necessary to specify areas of action and achieve tangible commitments."

Lluís highlighted the city's relevant role within the Catalan industrial sector, with 13 estates and nearly a thousand plots, emphasizing that growth depends on their modernization. The City Council is already promoting actions such as the Master Plan and the creation of a single file to facilitate business creation.
Regarding governance, the council reiterated the proposal to make Terrassa a pilot municipality for integration into the Single Business Window. They also urged the Department of Business, Industry and Energy to consider integrated instruments to facilitate asbestos removal and the installation of photovoltaic panels in the industrial estates.
