Demonstration in front of a public building demanding improvements in healthcare and 100% public management.

Dozens of people, called by the Commission of Entities for Public Health, gathered Monday outside Terrassa City Hall to demand fully public and quality healthcare management.

During the event, spokespersons strongly criticized the public-private collaboration model implemented in Catalonia for decades, stating that it “weakens the public system and favors private business,” especially following the cuts after the 2008 crisis. To reverse this situation, they demanded the repeal of Law 15/1997, which allows new management forms for the National Health System.

Vocation does not justify exploitation.

The Commission's manifesto calls for an increase in the public health budget, with a minimum of 25% allocated to primary care, and improvements in accessibility. Key demands include appointments with a family doctor in less than 48 hours, reduced waiting lists, and “dignified and uncollapsed” emergency services.
Emphasis was also placed on the precariousness of health professionals and the need to reinforce mental health, pediatrics, and dentistry services at CAPs (Primary Care Centers). Locally, the Commission denounced the failure to fulfill commitments made over three years ago in Terrassa, such as the construction of the CUAP-CAP, the new CAP Nord, the expansion of CAP Sud, and the duplication of CAP Rambla. In this context, the resignation of Health Minister Olga Pané was demanded.

"Our lives depend on it."
