The Terrassa City Council will plant 645 new trees throughout 2026 across all city districts to replace lost trees and improve urban green spaces.

The Green Spaces Service of the Terrassa City Council has developed a plan for planting 645 trees throughout 2026. This action will be carried out in different parts of the city, including green areas and street trees, with the main objective of replacing trees lost due to the impact of the drought in recent years.
The distribution of plantings will affect all districts. District 7 will receive the most specimens (102), followed by District 2 (86) and District 5 (84). In total, 480 trees will be planted in green areas and 165 along roads, with a distribution ranging from 82 trees in District 1 to 60 in District 3.

"Trees not only beautify the city, but also play a fundamental role in the environment: they cool the space with their shade, purify the air, reduce noise pollution, and enhance biodiversity, while providing well-being and health to the citizens."

Montserrat Alba · Councillor for Green Spaces
Among the specific areas where the plantings will be concentrated are the Plaça d’Ibèria and the Camí dels Monjos, with 20 trees each. Other significant points include Carrer de l’Aurora (13 trees), Plaça de l’Exili (12 trees), the Parc de les Nacions Unides (10 trees), and the Parc de Sant Jordi (8 trees).
