Terrassa to Host 46th Intensive Care Congress on Health and Sustainability

Medical experts will gather to discuss the future of ICUs and climate change challenges in healthcare.

The Factoria Cultural de Terrassa will host the 46th edition of the SOCMIIC congress on Thursday, March 12, focusing on sustainability within intensive care units.

Organized by the Catalan Society of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine and Nursing (SOCMIIC), the event is titled Health and sustainability: the future of our ICUs. A pre-congress workshop will also take place at the Hospital Universitari MútuaTerrassa (HUMT) teaching building.
Meteorologist Francesc Mauri will deliver the opening keynote on the relationship between health and climate. The program includes roundtables featuring environmental success stories from Mollet University Hospital, Germans Trias i Pujol, and MútuaTerrassa, highlighting transformative healthcare experiences.
The conference will feature 50 oral communications and posters covering topics such as emerging toxicology and nursing care for tracheotomized patients. Dr. Marta Pulido will conclude the event with a lecture on the application of AI in scientific publishing.
