Designer Mercè Paloma and talent from the ESCAC film school triumphed this February at the 2025 Gaudí Awards gala held at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

The costume designer from Terrassa, Mercè Paloma, was one of the main stars of the 18th edition of the Catalan Film Academy awards. Paloma collected the award for best costume design for her work on the film La Frontera, marking her sixth personal statuette following previous successes with films like Pa Negre or The Barcelona Vampiress.
Talent from ESCAC, the film school located in Terrassa, once again demonstrated its strength with nineteen awards directly or indirectly related to the city. Among the most awarded films were Sirat, with eight awards, and Frontera, which won Best Film and the Special Audience Award.

Up to nineteen statuettes of the night are directly or indirectly related to the city of Terrassa and the ESCAC school.

Other productions with a Terrassa connection such as La Furia, Mi amiga Eva, or Wolfgang also played a prominent role. Individual winners included former students such as Oriol Maymó, Laia Ateca, Laia Casanovas, and Lluís Rivera, consolidating the city as a benchmark in the audiovisual sector.
