The accident occurred at kilometer point 18.4 of the BV-5114 road. The emergency number 112 received 42 calls related to the incident, the first at 4:43 PM. The bus, operated by Sagalés, was carrying approximately eighty passengers.
The Generalitat Firefighters deployed 35 units, including helicopters from the Mountain Special Actions Group (GRAE Muntanya), which provided initial care and evacuation for individuals unable to exit the embankment on their own. A triage area was established to separate the injured by severity, and minor injuries of those who had climbed the embankment were also treated.
The Medical Emergency System (SEM) activated 23 ambulances, two medicalized helicopters, and psychological support teams. As of 8:30 PM, 83 people had been treated: 58 in mild condition, 18 in less serious condition, and seven in serious condition. The seven seriously injured individuals were transported to hospitals in Girona, Vall d'Hebron, Granollers, Sant Pau, and Sabadell.
Civil Protection activated the PROCICAT alert phase and established a reception center at Can Ramis in Sant Celoni, with the participation of the Red Cross and Civil Protection volunteers. The BV-5114 road is completely closed between kilometers 3 and 25.
During the night, firefighters will continue the search in the area with drones and intervention teams, and the bus will be recovered tomorrow.
