Interior Minister Núria Parlon announced the suspension of all educational, university, and sporting activities across Catalonia this Thursday, February 12, due to forecasts of extreme wind conditions.

The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (Meteocat) has described the event as a "first-class" windstorm. According to Santi Segalà, head of forecasting, two intensity peaks are expected: the first on Thursday, affecting all regions, and the second on Saturday.

"To ensure that the population receives clear instructions, we will approve a resolution that will come into force at midnight."
