A copper theft on the railway line has led to the suspension of the R3 train service between La Garriga and Ripoll since early morning, impacting regular commuters.

The section of the R3 line connecting La Garriga with Ripoll became inoperative this morning due to a copper theft. The incident was detected around 4:20 AM, with the affected point located in Vic.
In response to this disruption, Renfe has arranged an alternative road transport service to cover the affected route and minimize inconvenience for travelers.
This suspension adds to existing disruptions caused by track duplication works between Parets del Vallès and La Garriga, and between Ripoll and La Tor de Querol. These works had already led to the implementation of an alternative road service, which now has been expanded to manage the new situation.
The ongoing construction work on the line has inadvertently facilitated the actions of thieves, as the absence of regular train traffic in certain sections has led to an increase in copper thefts.
