The Crims program on TV3, presented by Carles Porta, has once again led audience ratings with a 26.5% share, surpassing TN Vespre and captivating over 466,000 viewers with the murder case of Jennifer Cot in Parets del Vallès.

The episode, which covered the unexpected murder of Jennifer Cot, 27 years old, by her husband, generated significant anticipation. The victim's family, who had always considered the husband as another son, firmly stood by him, visiting him in prison every weekend, until police evidence proved his guilt.
Television competition could not contend with Crims' success. Not even the premiere of Masterchef on TVE, typically one of the most-watched programs, managed to exceed half of TV3's audience, registering 12.5%. Other programs like La Revuelta and El Hormiguero garnered 7.8% and 7.5% respectively, while First Dates on Telecinco dropped to 5.3%.
The case of Jennifer Cot, a resident of Parets del Vallès, began with her disappearance, which alarmed her co-workers. The Mossos d'Esquadra suspected the husband from the outset due to his demeanor, but the victim's family defended his innocence. The murder coincided with the husband's birthday, who attempted to conceal the crime by sending himself a message from his wife's phone and dragging the body to a hidden area of the parking lot. However, a neighbor heard screams and alerted the police, pinpointing the time of the crime.
Despite initial suspicions due to his nervous behavior and scratches, the husband was released due to lack of evidence. Investigators relied on security cameras from a bank near the parking lot, but the coincidence with the September 11th holiday weekend delayed access to the footage for five days, which caused outrage among viewers. Ultimately, the images proved he had lied, and he was arrested eleven days after the crime.
The husband maintained his innocence, and Jennifer's family continued to visit him in prison. It was not until the secrecy of the summary proceedings was lifted and they gained access to the investigation documents that they accepted his guilt, recalling previous arguments and the aggressor's 'very controlling' nature. They also remembered that Jennifer had asked them to take care of her daughter 'if anything happened to her'.
Two years later, during the trial, the man confessed to having killed Jennifer 'accidentally' during an argument, receiving a 20-year prison sentence. The news that he is now free and has his own business has generated significant anger on social media. The episode also highlighted that most witnesses spoke in Spanish, with the exception of the judge and prosecutor, a situation that surprised viewers.
