A fire that broke out this morning at a recycling plant in Granollers has mobilized twelve Bombers de la Generalitat crews, leading to the preventive confinement of residents in the area.

The fire started shortly before 05:00 at a waste dump. Emergency teams have deployed a long-term operation with the main goal of containing the burning scrap and waste, preventing the flames from spreading to other parts of the facility.
Due to the thick column of smoke generated, Protecció Civil has activated the PROCICAT plan pre-alert. Authorities have advised residents in the affected areas to stay indoors to avoid health issues caused by smoke inhalation.
Extinguishing efforts are supported by heavy machinery and the company's own water monitors. At the same time, the fire has caused traffic to be cut off on a section of the C-35 road, specifically at the junction with the AP-7 northbound.
