The Gran Centre Granollers association has joined the Jo no puc esperar initiative to guarantee immediate and barrier-free access to commercial restroom facilities for people with digestive pathologies.

The measure, promoted by the commercial entity in Granollers, seeks to create a support network where participating establishments provide access to their facilities for citizens holding an accreditation card. This document, which validates the medical need, is obtained through a prior evaluation by collaborating healthcare professionals.
According to sources from the entity, the project is specifically aimed at patients with Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, or ostomized individuals. The goal is to turn shops into safe and friendly spaces, eliminating the difficulties these patients face in their daily lives when they need to use a restroom urgently.

"Shops can be meeting points, friendly and safe spaces where help can be found."

The Gran Centre membership follows a proposal promoted by the Health department of the Granollers City Council. The local government is currently working to expand this network to municipal facilities such as libraries and civic centers.
The Jo no puc esperar campaign was originally created by the Association of Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis Patients of Catalonia (ACCU Catalunya) and the Doctor Josep Trueta University Hospital of Girona, and has already been successfully implemented in several Catalan municipalities.
