The Catalan Fire Department is entering the third day of searching for a driver whose van was swept away by the Mogent river in Llinars del Vallès during heavy rains.

Specialized units, including GRAE divers and canine teams, are focusing on a 30-kilometer perimeter that now reaches the Mediterranean Sea. The incident occurred last Friday near the Flamagas factory during the Regina storm.

"The stream took the van in just a few minutes at a point where the water narrows and becomes uncontrollable."

Martí Pujol · Mayor of Llinars del Vallès
The driver, who was not a local resident, managed to make a distress call as water entered the cabin. Although the vehicle was found 1.5 kilometers downstream, the occupant remains missing.
