The NGO SEO BirdLife has moved its Catalan headquarters to Granollers, seeking a location closer to its field activities, and held an outing in Parc del Falgar to observe birds.

After 25 years in Barcelona, the entity SEO BirdLife, committed to the conservation of birds and nature, has established its Catalan delegation in Granollers. This decision stems from a desire to be closer to the areas where most of its activities and field trips take place.
As part of its new phase, the organization hosted an activity in Parc del Falgar last week. The aim was to closely observe the European Goldfinch, designated Bird of the Year 2026, a species with an estimated national population of 14 to 15 million individuals. During the session, discussions covered its current conservation status, the threats it faces, and the challenges for this popular species.
The event also included the identification of other species typical of wetland and riverine environments, such as the Little Grebe, Common Buzzard, Crag Martin, and Grey Heron, among others.
