The city of Granollers is preparing to host the Correllengua Agermanat on Tuesday afternoon, with a day full of cultural and reivindicative activities at the Porxada in defense of the Catalan language.

The Correllengua Agermanat, an initiative touring the Catalan Countries between Sunday and May 5, will make a significant stop in Granollers. Starting at 4:45 PM, the Porxada square will transform into a meeting point for linguistic celebration and advocacy.
The flame, the project's central symbol, will arrive in the city via Cardedeu road, cross Girona street to the Porxada, where it will pause for 20 minutes, and continue its journey along the Congost towards Barcelona. Along this urban route, various local entities, such as the Guapes Blanques and the Bastoneres Blaves, will provide animation points. Granollers Pedala and sports clubs like Club Tennis Taula Granollers, Club Rugby Spartans, and Granollers Fènix will also join the mobilization, accompanying the flame from the Hospital. In total, nearly 25 city entities have supported this initiative.
Once at the Porxada, the flame will light the brazier to stay alive throughout the afternoon. The main event will include the reading of the manifesto, the Ball de l’Homenatge performed by the Esbart Dansaire, and the farewell of the flame with verses from the Diables. The day will continue with language games, led by Òmnium Cultural and the Blancs Llenguts group, a dance workshop with Passaltpas, a concert by the Petits Cantors dels Amics de la Unió, a chocolate party by the youth center Colònies Sant Esteve, and performances by musical and popular culture groups. Around eight points will be set up at the Porxada with language games, such as Paraulògic, suitable and open to all audiences.
The Correllengua is defined as a non-competitive race covering all Catalan-speaking territories, from Prada del Conflent to Alghero, passing through Catalonia, the Valencian Country, and the four Balearic Islands (Formentera, Ibiza, Menorca, and Mallorca). With a route of over 1,500 kilometers and 17 stages, it combines walking and cycling sections to facilitate participation from various entities. In each municipality, the passing of the flame is an occasion for cultural events, manifesto readings, and popular festivities.
