The Mossos d’Esquadra received the alert regarding the incident at kilometer point 102.1 of the motorway, northbound, at 3:47 PM on December 17. In addition to the fatality, the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) transported another woman with less serious injuries to the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona. Two other men were treated at the scene and were discharged without requiring hospital transfer.
Following the accident, five patrols of the Mossos d’Esquadra, four units of the Bombers de la Generalitat, and seven SEM units were activated. The road impact was significant, with two lanes closed on the AP-7 towards Girona, causing congestion starting from Vallgorguina. The lanes were reopened after 7:00 PM.
