The Les Franqueses del Vallès City Council has formalized the transfer of several plots of land to the Generalitat de Catalunya for the construction of social housing, aligning with its objective of ensuring access to decent housing. Currently, the construction of a building with 6 homes on Carretera de Cànoves is out to tender. Furthermore, a development of 16 homes on Carrer Cadí and two plots on Carrer de Rosa Parks, each with 14 homes, have been added to the Generalitat's public land reserve, pending the completion of the Sector R urbanization. The construction of an additional 52 homes on a plot designated for facilities within Sector R is also planned.
Since early 2026, the municipality has also expanded its emergency social housing stock with 7 apartments. These properties are used for the temporary rehousing of families facing vulnerability or economic emergencies. The most recent acquisition was made under Decree Law 1/2025, which prioritizes public administrations in mobilizing housing from mortgage foreclosures to increase municipal social housing.
The Municipal Action Plan 2023-2027 already included in its third axis the promotion of local housing policies. During the current term, the number of emergency social housing units has nearly doubled, increasing from 4 before 2023 to the current 7.
