The Les Franqueses del Vallès City Council has secured a cession of 2,317 m² of public space from ADIF, located in front of the former military barracks.

With this new acquisition, the total public space area in front of the former military barracks will double, increasing from the current 2,921 m² to 5,238 m². This cession, the result of persistent negotiation between the council and ADIF, will be implemented once the current fences are moved to the railway tracks.
ADIF has also agreed to relocate the company's telecommunications cabin, removing an obstacle for future urban development. This expansion will allow for the consolidation of a facilities area west of the station, a sector identified by a Barcelona Provincial Council study from 2024 as strategic for sociocultural revitalization.
Furthermore, at the City Council's request, the Water Tower, a historical element linked to the municipality's railway past, will be preserved.
