The project is founded on the principles of equity, equal opportunities, and the co-responsibility of the entire educational community. The first step will be to conduct a diagnosis of the municipality's educational reality.
To carry out this diagnosis, a working group comprising various local stakeholders will be established. This group will include municipal technicians from Education and Social Services, representatives from educational inspection and the LIC advisor of the Department of Education, directors of public and subsidized schools, Parents' Associations (AFA), the Psychopedagogical Advisory Team (EAP), and other educational agents, as well as representatives from families and the Consell de Poble de la Batllòria.
This working group will meet in seven sessions throughout the school year to monitor the work, analyze the diagnosis results, and advance in defining the Local Pact against educational segregation.
Sant Celoni has achieved a significant reduction in school segregation over the past decade, thanks to sustained work aimed at promoting more balanced and inclusive schooling and reducing educational inequalities. Within this framework, the 'Pla Educatiu d’Entorn' (Educational Environment Plan) has been instrumental in strengthening coordination between schools, administration, and community agents, fostering educational opportunities for all students.
The Municipal Schooling Office (OME) has also contributed to better planning and support for schooling, with a special focus on equity in access to schools. This coordinated effort demonstrates the municipality's commitment to preventing and reducing school segregation, reaffirming a continuous effort to ensure more equitable, inclusive, and cohesive education for all students in Sant Celoni.
