The tragic incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Monday within the municipality of Santa Maria de Palautordera, in the Vallès Oriental region. The impact specifically took place at kilometer point 2.4 of the IVR-17 road.
One of the two fatalities died at the scene of the accident, while the second seriously injured person later died at a hospital center, according to sources close to the case.
In addition to the two fatalities, two other people were injured. Six units of the Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters) were dispatched to the scene and had to extricate two of the four affected individuals, who were traveling in one of the vehicles that overturned due to the force of the collision.
Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the exact causes of this tragic accident that has shocked the community of Santa Maria de Palautordera and the Vallès Oriental region.
