The municipality of Vallromanes continues to work intensively to address the consequences of recent torrential rain episodes. The affected areas include landslides, fallen trees, sinkholes, water accumulation, and significant damage to the sewage system and various municipal roads.
The Municipal Brigade, the Municipal Guard, the ADF, along with Technical and administrative services, are coordinating efforts to inspect the terrain, mark hazardous points, remove obstacles, and restore minimum usability of the affected access routes.
Priority actions are focused on several roads. On the path from Can Gurguí to Can Prades, trees and debris have been removed to provide provisional access for residents, with an alternative route established via the path of Can Martí de Dalt. On the path of Can Cargolí, action has been taken to address a sinkhole and issues affecting the BP 5002 road, reinforcing access and contacting Roads Department to resolve water runoff.
A fallen tree has also been removed on the path of Can Galantó, a sinkhole on the path of the Font de Can Gurguí is being monitored, and traffic has been cut off on the path of La Torre de Sant Isidre due to runoff and a sinkhole on the verge of collapse on the path of Ca l’Agutzil.
Other affected areas include Can Corbera and Cal Tàbac due to landslides, the path from Can Gurguí to Can Raspall due to runoff, the path of Can Brutau due to a fallen tree, landslide, and broken pipe, and several potholes in Can Rabassa affecting the streets of Sant Andreu and Can Rabassa. In Can Maimó, a sinkhole and road narrowing have occurred, and in Can Maioles, the entrance condition is being checked and earth is being removed.
Work continues with the removal of accumulated soil, inspection of the sewage network, and monitoring of areas at risk of new landslides. Soon, mud will be cleared from the central streets and the stream.
The City Council is processing subsidy applications for emergency measures from the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Barcelona Provincial Council. A specific email address (vrmn.afectacionstemp@vallromanes.cat) has been set up for citizen-reported incidents, operational until October 31st.
