The Alcover City Council has unanimously approved a motion urging the Tarragona Provincial Council to improve the TV-7421 road, a key route for several housing developments in the municipality.

Residents of the Serradalt, Muntanyans, and la Cabana housing developments have repeatedly reported the poor condition of the TV-7421 road, which connects Pont de Goi to the C-37 interchange. According to the motion, the road suffers from significant deficiencies, with sections failing to meet minimum safety and traffic standards.
Current regulations require interurban roads to have adequate width, signage, and maintenance for safe circulation. However, several stretches of the TV-7421 lack sufficient width and basic horizontal signage, such as lane separation lines, creating road safety issues that affect residents' quality of life.
This road serves as the primary access to the aforementioned developments, as alternative routes are rural paths unsuitable for safe travel. In light of this situation, the motion calls for the Tarragona Provincial Council to urgently prepare a technical report to identify deficiencies and determine necessary actions.
Furthermore, it requests the implementation of improvements based on this report, which should include widening the carriageway, installing vertical and horizontal signage, and adopting complementary measures to ensure the safety of all road users.
