In Alt Camp, the number of retired individuals reached 9,975 on December 31, 2025, according to Idescat data. This figure represents 21.2% of the total regional population. Over the last eight years, the number of retirees has increased by 729 people, from 9,246 in 2018 to the current 9,975, with the percentage remaining around 21%.
Regarding gender, at the end of 2025, there were 4,940 retired men and 5,035 retired women, a slight difference that has varied in recent years. Until 2023, there was an equal number of men and women, and prior to that year, there were more retired men.
The retirement of individuals who contributed during periods of economic prosperity has led to higher pensions. While in 2011 only 16 people in Alt Camp received over 2,500 euros monthly, by 2025 this number had risen to 1,152. Similarly, those earning between 2,000 and 2,500 euros increased from 286 in 2011 to 937 in 2025.
Valls is home to the majority of the region's retirees, with 5,551 individuals (55.65% of the regional total), of whom 2,880 are women and 2,671 are men. At the other end, Mont-ral has only 26 retirees, followed by El Milà and Els Garidells with 37 each.
In terms of average pension, La Riba leads with 1,517 euros, followed by Vallmoll (1,366 euros) and Valls (1,302 euros). Other municipalities such as El Pont d’Armentera (1,018 euros), Nulles (1,087 euros), and El Masó (1,101 euros) are at the lower end, with the remaining municipalities averaging between 1,100 and 1,300 euros.
