This weekend, Alt Camp becomes a hub for various cultural and sports events. Among the highlights, writer Màrius Serra will give a talk on the use of Catalan at the Casal de Vila-rodona on Friday at 7 PM, as part of the “En parlem a l’Ateneu” project. Admission will be free for Casal members and will cost 5 euros for non-members.
The town of Puigpelat is celebrating its Winter Major Festival in honor of the Mare de Déu de la Llet. Events began on Thursday, April 9, and will continue on Friday, April 10, with the presentation of gifts from the Joan Plana school, the 4th Puiglletada, and the dinner for the festival organizers. On Saturday, April 11, the program includes the second section of the 30th Camí de l’Aigua, a parade, and a fire run at night. Sunday will feature the most solemn acts, such as the Eucharistic celebration, the Moixiganga dance inside the church, and the blessing of the town. The festival will conclude with audiovisual projections by the Grup Excursionista del Camp de Tarragona.
Music will also have its place with the traditional children's cantata, bringing together 120 children from the Robert Gerhard Music School of Valls. The event will take place on Saturday at 12:30 PM at the Centre Cultural de Valls. This year's cantata was written by Rosabel Bofarull, based on the story El bibliobús de l’Ant, a tale celebrating the magic of books and libraries.
In the theatrical realm, former El Tricicle member, Carles Sans, will visit the Centre Cultural de Valls on Sunday, April 12, at 6 PM with his monologue “Per fi me’n vaig” (Finally, I'm Leaving). This performance is part of his farewell to the stage, where he transforms personal experiences and serious situations into humor.
Finally, football fans can enjoy the Tercera Catalana derby between UE Valls B and Atlètic de Valls. The match will be played on Saturday at 4:30 PM at El Vilar stadium, with both teams vying to stay in the top positions and contend for promotion play-offs.
