On September 4th, 5th, and 6th, the Seu d'Ègara in Terrassa will be the venue for the 'La nit de la llum' spectacle. This celebration, part of the Catalan National Day festivities, aims to support the proposal for the monumental and religious complex to be recognized as a World Heritage site by UNESCO.
Organized by ENFOC Musical in collaboration with the Diocese of Terrassa, the Terrassa City Council, CEAT, and Canal Terrassa, the event promises a comprehensive artistic experience for the 120 attendees per session. The performance will merge music, heritage, and audiovisual projections with special monumental lighting.
The experience will begin with a welcome from 'modern troubadours'. Inside the church of Sant Pere, the audience will enjoy choral singing featuring excerpts from the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat and works by Joan Cererols, alongside lyrical singing pieces from the Renaixença, Modernisme, and Noucentisme periods. Following this, the church of Sant Miquel will host a sardana dance performance.
At the church of Santa Maria, the Terrassa-based singer-songwriter Gemma Humet, recognized for her voice in contemporary Catalan music, will perform. The spectacle's climax will take place at the Hort del Prior, where jazz music will blend tradition with contemporary musical languages.
The musical performances will be complemented by audiovisual projections created by Ginés Pino and artistic lighting designed by Joan Roca. According to ENFOC Musical, these elements 'will contribute to highlighting the architectural beauty and history of one of Catalunya's most unique heritage sites'.
After the show, attendees can sample local gastronomic products, and a collective book featuring contributions from various Catalan cultural figures will be presented, advocating for culture as a space for meeting and dialogue. Tickets are priced at 15 euros and are available through the platform entrapolis.com.
