Ombudsman's Actions Decrease in Alt Camp in 2025

The annual report reveals a 3.74% decrease in the citizen's defender's interventions in the region, with Valls concentrating the majority.

The Ombudsman recorded a 3.74% reduction in its actions in Alt Camp during 2025, decreasing from 107 to 103 interventions, according to its annual report.

The annual report by the Ombudsman, recently presented, details a decrease in actions within the Alt Camp region during 2025. A total of 103 interventions were registered, representing a 3.74% drop compared to the 107 of the previous year. Of these, 54 were complaints and the rest were consultations.
Social policies continue to be the area with the most actions, totaling 46 interventions and accounting for 44.7% of the total. Within this section, housing was the most consulted matter (7), while social services generated the most complaints (10). An increase was also observed in actions related to citizen security and justice, which reached 3.9%, two percentage points higher than in 2024.
In contrast, actions linked to public administration and taxes decreased, although they remain the second area with the most consultations and complaints, representing 20.4% of the total. Consumption, for its part, dropped from 25 to 19 actions, constituting 18.4% of the total. Territorial policies also experienced a significant reduction, from 25 to 12 actions, with the environment as the main focus.
During 2025, 72 individuals from the region contacted the Ombudsman, four more than the previous year, while no legal entities did so. Regarding gender, 54.2% of the people who contacted the Ombudsman identified as female, and 45.8% as male.
By municipality, Valls concentrated the highest number of actions with 44, although this figure is lower than the 66 in 2024. In contrast, Cabra saw an increase from 6 to 11 actions. Alcover registered 9 interventions, and Vallmoll doubled its actions, going from 4 to 8. Other municipalities such as Pla de Santa Maria (5), Aiguamúrcia (4), Pont d'Armentera (4), Vila-rodona (3), Puigpelat (2), Nulles (2), and Milà (2) also had actions. In three municipalities (Mont-ral, Bràfim, and Rourell), no actions were initiated, a figure lower than the eight in 2024.
