The Vilabella Day Center will host an informative talk on the impact of Alzheimer's and other dementias on the family sphere next Monday, May 11, an initiative open to the public.

This session, titled Impact of Alzheimer's and Other Dementias on the Family System, is an initiative of the Vilabella City Council. It is supported by the Association of Alzheimer's Relatives of Tarragona, the Generalitat de Catalunya, and the Alt Camp Regional Council, and its main objective is to provide tools and visibility to a reality affecting thousands of Catalan households.
During the meeting, which will take place at half past eleven in the morning, it will be analyzed how neurodegenerative diseases profoundly transform the lives of the entire family unit. The four fundamental areas in which dementia directly impacts will be addressed.
Currently, in Catalonia, more than 170,000 people live with Alzheimer's. This figure implies that more than 500,000 relatives assume the role of primary caregivers, often facing significant physical and emotional exhaustion. The talk is especially aimed at families who are actively caring for someone or who wish to learn more about available resources.
