The city of Valls will celebrate the traditional Tres Tombs festival on January 9, 10, and 11, 2026, with a program focused on the recovery of historical heritage, including unique examples from Catalonia.

Activities will kick off on January 9, 2026, with the inauguration of the exhibition “Valls, capital del patrimoni de carros” (Valls, capital of cart heritage). The weekend of January 10 and 11 will conclude with the vigil, the celebration of the Eve, and the traditional three laps around the municipality with the diligences, honoring Saint Anthony the Abbot of Valls.
The most notable development is the reincorporation of two key heritage pieces. Firstly, the Vilaverd cart, which returns to parade through the streets of Valls 14 years after its last appearance in 2011. This cart was responsible for closing the Tres Tombs of Valls for five years.
Secondly, the diligence of the Societat de Sant Antoni de Valls is recovered. This was the first piece acquired by the entity in 1983 in Alhama de Aragón. After deteriorating in the late nineties, the diligence has undergone a year of restoration and will rejoin the program next January.

The recovery of these historic pieces underscores the effort of the city of Valls to preserve its transport memory and its link to the festivity of Saint Anthony the Abbot.

The program also includes the Vermut del Dimoni (Devil's Vermouth) at Plaça de les Garrofes and changes to the route due to construction work on the Muralla de Sant Francesc. This modification requires the blessing of the animals to be held, exceptionally, at the Capella del Roser. Furthermore, the animal welfare protocol established by the Coordinadora de Tres Tombs de Tarragona will be applied for the fifth consecutive year.
