The trial against five defendants accused of the murder, illegal detention, and concealment of a man in Valls in March 2023 has started at the Audiència de Tarragona.

The Prosecutor's Office seeks 33 years in prison for the two main suspects charged with murder, illegal detention, and a crime against moral integrity, while the private prosecution raises the request to 34 years. The other three defendants face sentences between six months and three years for concealment.

According to the accusations, the victim was tied up, beaten, and subjected to electric shocks using a stick with a stripped cable, before being fatally stabbed with a "sharp and cutting object." The body was later buried on the ground floor of a dilapidated building on Carrer de l'Església de Valls, a known drug dealing spot.
During the first session, one of the defense lawyers changed the initial strategy, denying that his client had blamed the other suspect and stating that "he does not know who killed him." The defenses are seeking the acquittal of all five individuals, arguing a lack of direct evidence.
