The season began on Thursday, January 29, at the Teatre Principal de Valls with the concert Tea for three, a proposal by Bandera & Motis feat that reinvents traditional jazz with a youthful touch. February 19 will feature the Helix Trio with Mites en dansa (Myths in Dance), combining works by Dvořák, Turi, and Ravel.
March will highlight research with Antologia de dones compositores (Anthology of Women Composers) on Sunday, March 8, recovering pieces by authors such as the American Amy Beach or the Menorcan Margarida Orfila. Furthermore, on March 27, the Església de Sant Joan will host Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater for the Holy Week Proclamation.
The Amics de la Música de Valls and the Joventuts Musicals de l'Alt Camp seek to bring music closer to all audiences.
Regarding large formats, the Centre Cultural Municipal will host Mar de Mars (Sea of Seas) on March 18, a symphonic choral creation about the Mediterranean that will bring together 150 musicians, including the Orquestra Terrassa, the Cor Canta, and actress Àngels Gonyalons. This production will also be seen in Girona and the Auditori de Barcelona.
April will bring baroque violinist Adriana Alcaide to the Església de Sant Francesc with sonatas by Bach. The month will close with the piano duo Emili Brugalla and Vesko Stambolov at the Teatre Principal, performing works for ballet such as Fandango by Antoni Soler and The Rite of Spring by Ígor Stravinski.
The season will culminate with the participatory concert Sons de la terra. Homenatge a Antoni Gaudí (Sounds of the Earth. Tribute to Antoni Gaudí) on May 27, marking the centenary of his death. The show will feature the Orquestra Simfònica Camerata XXI and will premiere a commissioned work by Joan Magrané dedicated to the architect. The cycle will conclude on June 14 at the Convent de les Arts d'Alcover with Nit de lírica (Night of Lyric).
