The celebration will begin on Friday, January 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Sala dels Arcs with the screening of the documentary Sant Antoni o el solstici d’un mite. This piece, by the Arnolfini collective, offers a descriptive look at the Sant Antoni festivities and seeks to reactivate the celebration in a community key.
The film session will be complemented by a tasting of the traditional Sant Antoni soup, thus reconnecting cinema, territory, and local gastronomy. This initiative is incorporated into the Sant Antoni festive weekend in Valls.
The following day, Saturday, January 10, the activity will move to the plaça de les Garrofes at 12 p.m. to celebrate the Vermut musical del Dimoni (Devil's Musical Vermouth). The event will feature a special beer from Clandestines with labeling designed by the L’Oli Aparador studio, accompanied by “the devil’s temptations,” spicy tapas prepared by local butchers.
These vermouth events are part of their commitment to local and quality products and are supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya, through the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food.
These proposals are part of the collective effort that various entities and individuals in the city, including the Societat de Sant Antoni de Valls, are promoting to build a complete festive weekend that complements the traditional Tres Tombs. The Sant Antoni festival, deeply rooted in popular culture, is seen as an opportunity to strengthen community ties.
