The city of Valls unveiled its new ceremonial Eagle figure, recovering the original baroque image destroyed in 1936, coinciding with the festival of the Mare de Déu de la Candela.

The premiere of the new Valls Eagle took place this Monday, the day of the patron saint, the Mare de Déu de la Candela. This figure joins the procession, replacing the previous element, which dated back to 1991.
The key decision was the recovery of the image of the original baroque figure, which was destroyed during the Civil War in 1936, highlighting the city's commitment to restoring its historical heritage.
The piece, which is municipally owned, was created at the Santuari workshop, following an exhaustive historical study by the Valls Ceremonial Procession commission. It has been faithfully reproduced using period materials, such as a wooden skeleton covered with linen cloth and polychromed in oil.
Despite the effort towards historical recovery, the change of the Eagle has caused some public discontent. To contextualize the incorporation of the new element and facilitate its acceptance, various activities have been organized in recent days.
