The Valls City Council has launched a reinforced campaign to combat illegal dumping in its industrial park, with the installation of new video surveillance cameras and a significant increase in sanctioning files since January 2026.

The initiative, presented on April 13 on Fusters street in the industrial park, involves the coordination of the departments of Sustainability and Environment, and Citizen Security and Civil Protection. The main objective is to eradicate uncivil behavior that degrades public spaces and generates economic costs for citizens.
The campaign, which builds upon measures initiated in summer 2025, has been strengthened with increased police presence, more inspections, and the incorporation of four video surveillance cameras. These cameras are mobile, allowing their relocation to effectively cover the entire industrial area of Valls as needed.
To complement the surveillance, the City Council has also installed informative banners at various points, warning of the video-monitored zone, providing information on possible sanctions, and reminding citizens of the municipal services available for proper waste disposal.
Initial results are notable: in just one month of operation, the cameras have led to the opening of 17 sanctioning files. This figure brings the total number of files opened in 2026 to 22, already exceeding the 15 recorded throughout 2025. This increase reflects the municipal determination to tighten control and act firmly against infractions, which can result in fines of up to 6,000 euros depending on the severity and recurrence.

The main objective of this campaign is to put an end to uncivil behavior that degrades public space and generates a high economic cost for all citizens.
