Bellcaire earned three prestigious points at home, in the local derby against the Escala reserve team, preventing the leader, Empuriabrava-Castelló, from relaxing in the fight for direct promotion to Tercera Catalana. Pitu Batlle's side remains just three points off the top spot.
Bellcaire's goals came courtesy of an early penalty converted by Óscar Domínguez in the 3rd minute, and a goal from Martí Pou in the 85th minute with a low shot from the edge of the box. These were enough to counteract Escala B's goal, scored by Roger Puig in the 14th minute.
Empuriabrava-Castelló, which had lost its last match of 2025, returned to winning ways by defeating Base Vilobí 1-3. Despite the gap, Bellcaire leads the league's defensive records, having conceded only eleven goals.
Also applying pressure from third place is Llançà. The red-and-whites achieved a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Atlètic Pals and now have twenty-four points. Llançà has a postponed derby scheduled away at Portbou on Wednesday, January 21, which could further close the gap with the top teams.
