The main goal of the Rec del Molí housing cooperative is to consolidate itself as a reference in the Alt Empordà, offering a collaborative, sustainable, and community-oriented lifestyle. To publicize the details of participation and the living model, an informative event has been called for February 25 at the La Cate space in Figueres.
This initiative originated from the Fortià Town Council, which owns the land qualified as Official Protection Housing (HPO) on 1r de Maig street. The municipal corporation seeks to encourage the population to settle in the town by making this land available to a housing cooperative under a right-to-use scheme.
The monthly fees for the repayment of the collective loan range between 800 and 870 euros, with a refundable initial fee of between 19,000 and 21,000 euros.
According to the architectural, legal, and economic feasibility study, the land will allow the construction of 16 terraced houses (ground floor plus one), up to 120 m2 each. Once the cohabitation group is formed, its own cooperative will be created in Fortià, which will sign the agreement with the Town Council for the cession of the land, thus initiating the autonomous construction of the homes.
