The party stated that the narrative spread by certain entities and political figures is 'completely false', asserting that the events that occurred during their information stand on Sant Jordi were a dispute among the young people themselves, without involvement from party members.
“"It is especially serious that an anonymous statement, without any identified signatory or responsible party, has been disseminated by political figures and media outlets without anyone having the slightest courtesy or journalistic rigor to contact Aliança to cross-reference the information."
For this reason, Aliança Catalana has demanded an 'immediate rectification' of the statement promoted by members of the Institut Montgrí educational community and has warned that it reserves the right to take legal action against those who spread 'false news that attacks the honor' of the party and its members.
The original document, made public on social media, expressed the 'deep indignation and rejection' of the teaching staff regarding events that, according to them, occurred on Sant Jordi, where several students were allegedly 'harassed, offended, and expelled' by individuals at an Aliança Catalana tent, with racist and exclusionary comments.
The mayor of Torroella de Montgrí, Jordi Colomí, has confirmed speaking with the institute's management, who conveyed the educational community's indignation and concern. Consequently, he has called a meeting of spokespersons from all parties for next Monday, April 27, emphasizing the importance of coexistence over electoral interests and the need to be 'forceful' against racist and xenophobic stances.
