Several towns in the Alt Empordà region, including Castelló d'Empúries, Figueres, Roses, and El Port de la Selva, offer a varied cultural and educational agenda from February 2 to 8.

The Winter Festival, dedicated to the Candelera (Candlemas), is the central event in Castelló d'Empúries on Monday, February 2. The celebration includes an open house day at the Ecomuseu Farinera and the Museum of Medieval History of the Cúria-Presó, in addition to the solemn mass in honor of the Mare de Déu de la Candelera at the Basílica de Santa Maria.
Regarding educational activities, Figueres hosts the creative writing workshop “La càpsula de lletres” at the Espai Cultural Bookman, led by Sonia Palomar. Meanwhile, in Roses, the Library organizes digital capsules for basic mobile phone use, and the reading club meets to discuss A Sweet Song, by Leïla Slimani.

Do you want to feel safer and learn to defend yourself in real-life situations? We invite you to this FREE self-defense workshop for women, open to all, regardless of age, physical condition, or prior experience.

One of the most notable activities for its social utility is the third edition of the free self-defense workshop for women, held at the Espai Port in El Port de la Selva. This initiative aims to provide practical safety and self-defense tools for all participants.
