After publicly voicing his complaint about the degraded state of Parc de les Aigües a few weeks ago, Marc Pont, a resident of Peralada living in Figueres, has acknowledged the efforts made to reverse the situation. The improvements to this "green lung" are now visible, allowing both residents and numerous visitors to once again enjoy a dignified and safe environment.
“"I am grateful that the Figueres City Council has listened to this modest citizen request and acted to reverse the degradation of the park. The improvements made are evident and will allow residents of this area, as well as the many foreign visitors who stop here, to once again enjoy a dignified, well-maintained, and safe environment."
In addition to the municipal action, Pont also thanked the EMPORDÀ newspaper for its role as a voice for citizen concerns, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between media and citizens to solve problems. This experience demonstrates that dialogue and collective will can improve the quality of life in Figueres.
The resident trusts that, with the development of new housing projects in the area, the park's maintenance will be constant to prevent future degradation and ensure the preservation of this highly valued community space.
