The Town Council of La Jonquera has launched the 'En bici' campaign, with the support of the Diputació de Girona, to encourage sustainable mobility and promote local businesses through gifts for customers who use bicycles.

The initiative, which began this October, aims to raise awareness of the businesses, accommodations, and services that have joined the 'En bici' label, encouraging both residents and visitors to opt for this mode of transport for their daily and leisure travel.
The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Lluïsa Macias, highlighted that the campaign seeks to boost the local economy and promote more sustainable mobility. "A daily gesture like going shopping or traveling for a service can contribute to more sustainable mobility and, at the same time, help boost the local economy," she stated.
Macias also emphasized the importance of the involvement of the participating businesses, which are "an essential part of this initiative," and expressed the hope that the label will become increasingly well-known.
Through this action, the Town Council aims to strengthen the link between tourism, commerce, and sustainable mobility, inviting people to discover La Jonquera on two wheels.
The list of participating establishments can be found on the La Jonquera Tourism website.
