Alt Empordà Fills with Cultural and Social Activities from April 13 to 19

The Alt Empordà region presents a diverse cultural and social agenda between April 13 and 19, with proposals ranging from book clubs to exhibitions and workshops for all audiences.

The week begins on Monday, April 13, in Figueres with a school gathering of traditional Catalan dances in Plaça Catalunya, bringing together 560 primary school students. The Biblioteca Fages de Climent will host democratic memory and opera book clubs, while the Museu del Joguet will offer the conference '50 years with art'. Simultaneously, Fortià will have dancing at the Centre Agrícola i Social and Llançà will organize leisure games at the Espai Jove.
On Tuesday, April 14, the Biblioteca Fages de Climent in Figueres will continue with activities such as 'Born to Read' and a narrative book club. In Llançà, the Mossos d'Esquadra will give a talk on preventing robberies and scams at the Residència Can Marly, and the Espai Jove will host a meeting on couple relationships. In Vilafant, the Escola Sol i Vent will be a blood donation point.
The program for Wednesday, April 15, includes dancing at the Sala Ateneu in Borrassà and a conference on the ethical and legal use of artificial intelligence at the Biblioteca Víctor Català in l'Escala, led by Arlet Brufat from the OEIAC. In Figueres, the Biblioteca Fages de Climent will present the poetry collection La mirada encesa by Carme Montoriol, and in Roses, the Biblioteca Jaume Vicens Vives will offer 'Llibràlegs selecció' with Meri Yanes and Mercè Pons.
On Thursday, April 16, Llançà will screen the film Her by Spike Jonze at the Casa de Cultura auditorium. Friday, April 10 (sic) will mark the beginning of 'Sant Jordi in the commerce of Llançà 2026', a literary route through participating establishments. The exhibition '50 years of Avui' will also be inaugurated at the Espai Tramuntana in Llançà, open until May 3, and there will be an advanced children's book club at the Biblioteca Pere Calders.
On Saturday, April 18, Figueres will celebrate the 4th edition of 'Figa Dolça' on La Rambla, with pastry workshops, tastings, and a concert by Sr. Trombon. In Llançà, the Espai Pi will host a youth book club, and the Espai Gastromar will offer an anchovy salting workshop.
Finally, on Sunday, April 19, Llançà will host the 8th edition of the Costa Brava Stage Run, with a 5.5 km route along the Passeig Marítim. The Residència Can Marly will close the week with a ballroom dance.
