The municipal group Tots per Maçanet has strongly criticized the local Government's decision to roll over the 2025 budget into the 2026 fiscal year, citing a serious lack of transparency and potential financial losses.

The political group led by Ernest Ollero had already anticipated the budget extension, but their concern intensified in late September when they accessed the “Fundamental Lines of the 2026 Budget” document sent to the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration. This document, according to them, showed the real figures and estimates of closing 2025 with losses.

We consider the government's non-answers a lack of respect towards the residents of Maçanet, the councilors, and the institution.

The lack of clarity is particularly evident during the “Requests and Questions” section of the plenary sessions. Ollero points out that questions regarding the increased cost of street works, the potential 2025 deficit, and infrastructure priorities for 2026 have received evasive responses, such as “Probably,” “Most likely,” or “We will see when we have the invoices.”
The councilor from Tots per Maçanet expresses deep concern that the municipality might end up violating the Budgetary Stability Law. This situation could lead to entering an Economic and Financial Plan, implying cuts, halted investments, loans, or increased taxes to balance the accounts.

"We are not afraid of the truth. Because we believe that information should not be hidden or rationed."

To ensure maximum transparency, the group registered a request to record the municipal plenary sessions. They are currently carrying out the recordings and will soon open a YouTube channel to publish the videos unfiltered, allowing citizens to literally check what is asked and answered in the council chamber.
