The reopening of the R4 section between Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and Martorell, inoperative since the tragic accident in Gelida on January 20, has allowed the full railway connection between Sant Vicenç de Calders and Terrassa-Estació del Nord to be re-established. This measure directly benefits municipalities such as Gelida, Lavern-Subirats, la Granada, Vilafranca del Penedès, els Monjos, l'Arboç, and el Vendrell, which regain direct connection to Barcelona without transfers.
In parallel, the R1 line has also resumed its full route between Maçanet-Massanes and l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, eliminating the need for a transfer in Blanes. Furthermore, regular frequencies have been restored on this line, offering up to eight trains per direction between Barcelona and Mataró during peak hours.
However, RENFE has reported that, due to the extended maintenance schedule for ADIF infrastructure, an alternative road transport service will be maintained between Blanes and Maçanet-Massanes between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM, coinciding with the circulation of the last and first train of the day.
On the morning of April 7, 2026, an incident with the catenary affected the R11 and RG1 lines, forcing the closure of circulation between Llançà and Portbou stations. Although circulation was restored on a single track shortly before 10:00 AM, an alternative road service is being maintained between Figueres and Portbou due to accumulated delays. ADIF technicians continue to work in the area to resolve the incident as quickly as possible.
