The organization Òmnium Alt Penedès and Casal Societat La Principal will open the exhibition Paco Candel i els altres this Wednesday, March 25, at the Casal in Vilafranca.

Produced by the Memorial Democràtic, the display offers a literary and social portrait of the migratory waves that shaped Catalonia during the second half of the 20th century. The opening ceremony features Pere Baltà and Jordi Font.
The exhibition focuses on the book Els altres catalans, published in 1964. Francesc Candel's work was a pioneer in documenting the precarious living conditions and social marginalization faced by migrants fleeing poverty and Franco's regime.
Structured in four sections, the installation uses photographs and texts to explain urban growth and the role of migrants in the anti-fascist movement. It will be open to the public until April 16.
