Vilafranca unveils cultural season featuring 40 shows, concerts, and visual arts exhibitions

The program runs from February to July, highlighting the premiere of Tarsius by Ferran Carvajal and performances by Mazoni and Anna Andreu.

The Vilafranca del Penedès City Council presented the new season of performing and visual arts, which will begin in early February and last until July, featuring over 40 events at Cal Bolet and the Auditori.

The season officially opens on Sunday, February 8 at Cal Bolet with the play Tarsius, directed by local artist Ferran Carvajal. Two days earlier, on Friday, February 6, musician Mazoni will inaugurate the concert program at the Auditori. The presentation, held at the Sala dels Trinitaris, was attended by the Councillor for Culture, Àngels Dalmau.

Regarding music, the Auditori will host various proposals such as the benefit concert La Simfonia dels Herois with the DORIGEN orchestra on March 15, with funds dedicated to brain cancer research. Other acts include the duo Alosa, Gerard Quintana and Jordi Batiste with Els Miralls de Dylan, and singer Anna Andreu presenting Vigília in May. The Camerata Penedès will perform its first concert of 2026 with Lorenza Borrani as concertmaster director.
In the theatrical field, audiences can see Göteborg by Jordi Casanovas in February, and in April, one of the highlights will be Cor dels amants, starring Marta Marco and Ernest Villegas. Dance will play a significant role with the Festival Dansòmetre (April 24 to 29), which will include the local company La Taimada with OPUS and the performance of Marc Fernández with Aleta to close the season on June 19.
The visual arts program includes 12 proposals spread across the capella de Sant Joan, the Sala dels Trinitaris, and the claustre de Sant Francesc. Highlights include the exhibition by Chilean photographer Luis Lazo, Were the days too few?, and the sculptural exhibition by Gaspar Rivadulla, La vida i no sé. Furthermore, visual artist Pepe Seguí will present the sound art installation Canta i Labora, linked to the Festival Vilapensa.
