Education professionals from la Seu d'Urgell and the Alt Urgell region are joining this Wednesday's strike actions called across Catalonia to demand better labor and salary conditions.

The protest day in the capital of Alt Urgell includes a march to Castellciutat and a loud demonstration through the city center. Activities began at the El Passeig Civic Center and will conclude with an assembly at Plaça de les Monges to plan further actions.

"The agreement between UGT, CCOO, and the Government is insufficient, signed through the back door and ignoring the majority of teachers."

Major unions such as USTEC-STES and CGT have distanced themselves from the pact signed by the Generalitat with minority unions. Their main demands include lower student-to-teacher ratios, reduced bureaucracy, and increased resources for diversity in public schools.
Protests are also scheduled in Val d'Aran with road blocks on the N-230. On Friday, buses will depart from la Seu and Pallars to take protesters to the large-scale demonstration planned in Barcelona.
